How to install RTP Play on Kodi
RTP Play is a great source of content that deserves a place in your Kodi set up. This leading Portuguese channel provides a varied selection of options including TV shows, movies, news, sports events and more. You can find the RTP Play add-on in the official Kodi repository. Here, we will tell you how to install RTP Play on Kodi. We will go through the instructions that you need to follow for Kodi 17 (Krypton), as well as Kodi 18 (Leia).
How to watch RTP Play on Kodi from anywhere
As previously mentioned, RTP Play is available in the official Kodi addon Repository. You will be able to set it up easily. However, there are geographical restrictions that will prevent you from accessing live streams on RTP, if you are outside Portugal. Thankfully, there is a way to appear as if you were in Portugal, even if you are somewhere else. You just need to connect to a VPN server in Portugal and soon you will get an IP address from that location. There is an extensive list of VPN services available, but in order to be able to use one to unblock RTP Play from anywhere, you need a VPN that has servers in Portugal.
RTP is not the only Kodi add-on that is subject to regional blocks. By using a VPN you will be able to unblock this and other streaming platforms, apps and websites. A VPN allows you to bypass restrictions because it gives you a different virtual location. You just need to subscribe to a VPN service, download the software and install it on your device. Then you can connect to a server in the location of your choice. To be able to bypass the geo-blocks that are implemented on RTP, you need to connect to a VPN server in Portugal to get a Portuguese IP address. Then, you can access RTP and all the content that is only available in that country.
Apart from letting you overcome restrictions, a VPN also protects your online traffic from eavesdroppers. When you connect to a VPN, your entire traffic is routed through a secure tunnel. The information is encrypted, meaning that other people won’t be able to see what you are up to. VPN services also come handy to bypass ISP throttling. If you have noticed that the speed of your connection is slower when you are watching videos, it is very likely that your ISP is throttling your connection. A VPN is an effective tool to prevent this because it hides your activities so your ISP won’t know when you are streaming media.
The other benefit of using a VPN is privacy. Since a VPN establishes a secure tunnel to protect your data, your ISP or other parties won’t see what websites you vist, what content you access or anything else. The additional protection that a VPN provides allows you to enjoy streams from anywhere, without compromising your information. VPNs offer practical apps that are compatible with different types of devices. You can enjoy the advantages of a VPN when you are at home or on the go. In order to fully enjoy the protection that a VPN offers, make sure that you choose a service that doesn’t keep any logs.
You will find many VPNs in the market, but not all of them can be trusted. We recommend well-established solutions that are known for offering high standards of protection. The first one is ExpressVPN, a service that is incredibly fast and that also uses strong encryption to secure your traffic. ExpressVPN has servers in over 90 countries. Another good option is NordVPN, a provider based in Panama that has a strong commitment to security and privacy. It has servers in over 60 countries and supports advanced security features. Last, but not least, we recommend IPVanish, a provider that offers servers in over 60 countries and it offers great speeds and reliable performance. All the providers mentioned are great for privacy because they don’t keep logs of your activities.
