No one really likes black hat hackers, so people should assume the black hat hackers themselves like each other. But it is not as easy as that as seen when two black hat hackers started to attack each other over the weekend. One of the hackers, known as Peace or Peace_of_mind, started to deface and breach one of their rival’s websites and we can say hacker drama started.
The two hackers involved are all well known in hacker circles for their notoriety in underground hacking and both hackers have been involved in some high-profile hacking incidents. Peace is the hacker responsible for selling data which was found from the VK.com breach, Tumblr, LinkedIn, Fling.com and Linux Mint forums. The hacker is also known in various underground markets such as the Hell Forum and the TheRealDeal Dark Web marketplace. He is believed to be one of the key members of the portals. And over the weekend Peace added wOrm, the rival’s website as one of his hacking victims.
wOrm has also been involved in some high-profile hacking cases such as that of the US news publication such as the Wall Street Journal, Vice and CNET. Most security researchers and experts, however, know wOrm mostly for running his website that usually publishes some proof of concept codes for some various recent security flaws. He also provides some database dumps on his website from breached servers and websites. The website also contains a forum for discussions which is active and it’s a place where other hackers can meet to discuss, sell and update each other on hacking tools.
However on Sunday morning, all visitors to the wOrm website were greeted with a message that read, Hacked by Peace of Mind and Prometheus for [expletive] with Hell Forum. The website is also said to have been containing the actual photo of wOrm himself and his personal details. Verification if the data’s accuracy was unfortunately not made before the publication of the article. This is not the first time that wOrm is being doxed however. He has been a victim of doxing twice before this, back in October 2014 and September 2015. The same data from those two years seems to be the same data that was posted by Peace this time around.
In a conversation with reporters, Peace confirmed that he hacked his rival’s site. Mentioning the reasons for the hack, Peace said that wOrm had been reporting some flaws of some websites which he had access to, and at the end of the day he could not get access because of him. That’s one of the personal reasons, and another was because he had scammed some people that Peace knew. He said he had been dissatisfied with the fact that wOrm was also stealing stuff from the Hell forum. Hell forum is a closed forum for high-end hackers, and wOrm ended up posting the content on his website for everyone to see.
Peace was not satisfied with just hacking the website, he also dumped all its contents online. The dumped data has some user account emails, passwords and private messages. It also contained the source code of an exploit kit named Hunter, one of the most active exploits available now but mot as lethal.
