How to watch the 2019 NRL season live and free in Australia
The Nine Network is hugely popular in Australia and this free-to-air TV station has the rights for broadcasting three matches in each round. The remainder five are in the hands of Fox Sports. This agreement is the same as last year, meaning that watching the 2019 NRL season on free-to-air TV is not as simple since you can’t find all the matches in the same place.
Channel 9 or channel 90 (the HD quality option) are the networks that offer the Thursday night games in New South Wales or Queensland. The second Friday night matches and the Sunday afternoon events are presented on free-to-air TV. Those in Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia can rely on GEM to watch the matches. If you happen to be in South Australia, you can enjoy the Sunday afternoon match live for free, and the other two weekday fixtures are presented only at midnight or in the early hours of the following day. All the matches in the final round, will be shown live over the Nine Network all over the country, on Channel 9/90 or on GEM.
