What is WWE?
WWE is well-known due to its famous characters such as Hulk Hogan, Jimmy Snuka, Andre the Giant, Junkyard Dog, Captain Lou Albano and Rowdy Roddy Pipper. All of whom have their own stories and gimmicks whenever they are wrestling inside the rink. WWE was so popular that in 1980s, Hulk Hogan and other wrestling characters were shown through cartoons.
In 1985, WWE held its first Pay Per View called WestleMania. Though many though pay per view was risky, Vince McMahon, the CEO of WWE did not make this stop him from trying and he was right. WrestleMania became so huge that there were even well known celebrities who have joined the fun. With the mentioned success, McMahon tried to create other Pay Per View events.
As years passed, WWE came up with and has shown many different wrestling events on Pay Per View. Each event, even with a few similar rules, they had their own set of rules. The number of events in one year had ranged from 6 to 13 events. When their ratings started to drop, they would make a few changes and would rebrand another event or would create a new event sometimes.
In 2013, WWE Battleground was launched in Buffalo New York. It came with an iconic main event match between Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton. Both fighters had to wrestle their way to win the vacant WWE Championship. The match was so intense that had left both superstars all beaten up and with neither one of them had won. This has led to another event with both stars wrestling inside a cell.
In 2014, another event was done in Tampa Bay, Florida wherein the main event was with John Cena against Roman Reigns, Randy Orton and Kane. This event was a four-way match that has lasted for 18 minutes and 15 seconds. John Cena was able to defend his championship title.
